Creating an online account

How to create your account on the Ofgem website

All RHI beneficiaries need their own account on the Ofgem RHI website.

Opening your own account

This needs to be done in the name of an individual who is the authorised representative of the RHI installation owner.

You will need the following information:

  • The user name you want to use (we suggest the company or site name)
  • Company (or charity) registration number
  • Address, postcode and telephone number
  • The authorised signatory’s name, including middle initial, job title and date of birth (!)
  • Email address of this person (this will be the email which Ofgem will use)
  • A security question and answer (e.g. mother’s maiden name)

Access the website, select the option ‘Create a new RHI account’ and follow the instructions in pages 5 to 8 of Ofgem’s user guide.

Alternatively, we can do this for you, if you provide the above information, but you will need to activate the account yourself.

Activating your Ofgem account

Once the account has been created as shown above, an email will be sent to the authorised user with a link to activate the account, as shown in pages 9 and 10 of Ofgem’s user guide.

This person will have to:

  • Agree to the terms and conditions, by ticking the ‘I accept’ box
  • Create a password for the account (9 characters, including at least one number and capital)

Authorising us as a user on the account

Once the account has been activated, you will receive a further email from Ofgem.

When you then go into the activated account, the two options ‘User Management’ and ‘Accreditation’ will be offered at the top left of the screen.

Using the first of these you can set us up as an additional user as described here.
