Your installer’s role
What your installer will need to do to ensure your system can be registered for the RHI
Your installer is responsible for designing and installing the renewable heat system, and ensuring that it meets the technical requirements of the RHI.
Eligibility requirements
The installer must ensure that the equipment meets all the RHI eligibility requirements as described here.
If the system is up to 45kW, the installer will need to be accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, and will have to use MCS-certified equipment, as further described here.
Metering requirements
Where heat metering is required, as it is for all non-domestic systems, the meter type and location will need to meet a set of specified requirements.
For convenience, an outline is given here, but the installer must ensure that he meets all the requirements specified in Chapter 7 of Ofgem's guidance document.
